Based in Detroit, Steven has been part of Obscuras since 2023, when we first crossed paths at Michigan’s Great Lakes Burning Man Regional, Lakes of Fire. From that moment, he became woven into the Obscuras family.

An artist at heart, Steven shares his gift through sound—offering rhythm, emotion, and atmosphere wherever he plays.
As a DJ, he hosts private events in Detroit, has spun on the playa at Burning Man, and has brought his signature energy to both The Obscuras Ball – Apparition and our camp at Sideburn. His sets live on through our SoundCloud.

Steven is the keeper of all things music and sound within Obscuras. If you have a question about the beats, the flow, or the mood of the night, Mr. Normal is your Soundkeeper.

Based in Detroit, Dave is a multidisciplinary artist whose creativity flows through music, short films, and documentary work. His artistry is rooted in storytelling and atmosphere—crafting moments that linger long after the night has faded.

As a dedicated burner, Disco Dave has gifted his talents to Obscuras at the Ontario Burning Man Regional, Sideburn, where his presence and sound helped shape the emotional rhythm of the camp.
Whether behind the decks or behind the scenes, Dave brings intention, heart, and a deep sense of collaboration to everything he touches.

You’ll often find him moving through camp with quiet purpose—supporting wherever needed, building alongside his fellow campmates, and working in perfect sync with his partner in sound, Mr. Normal. Together, they are the Soundkeepers who give Obscuras its pulse.
